I am less than what I want to be. I am less kind, less bold, less wise, less patient. I am also a lot more than I want to be. I am more proud, more prone to worry and more selfish than I ever thought possible. Amazingly I can say with the hymn writer that,
My Hope is built on nothing less,
Than Jesus blood and righteousness.
He also clothed me in His righteousness so that now I am fully acceptable and free to pursue the things of God, free from the condemnation that my failures deserve. This is love.
Here are some things that I desire:
1. To understand the love Christ has for me more deeply
2. To know, really know the character God
3. To figure out how knowing God should transform my thoughts, motives and actions
4. To learn how to apply Christ’s sacrificial work on the cross to all of my circumstance
Since my memory is like a sieve it is best if I write things down. There have been so many times that I have read a book that blew me away or saw a quote that I loved only to forget about them because I didn’t write it down. So this is a record of the things I am studying and learning. Things I am working through and struggling with.
As Christians we are on a journey and it is best not to travel alone. So you are more than welcome to join me.
C.S. Lewis said, “We read to know we’re not alone,” so I hope this blog makes you feel less alone and more encouraged.
