There are so many wonderful children's resources available that it can sometimes be overwhelming. I want to share an author with you whose works I have really enjoyed with my children.
Starr Meade is a native of Arizona. She has 3 grown children and a few grandsons. A number of years ago Starr and her family spend a couple of years in France doing missions work. After returning to the States she spent some time as the Director of Children's Ministries at her church and then worked at a Christian school teaching Bible and beginning Latin. She then started writing books, curriculum, and materials for family devotions.
What I love about her children Bibles and other children's books and curriculum is that she takes everything a bit deeper.
She brings all the Bible stories back to the character of God and teaches doctrinal truth in a way that children can understand. Her books are perfect for children 8 and up.
The two books below each contain 90 Bible stories and also cover theological truths about God.
This next book is a devotional that goes through Galatians to teach the doctrine of justification by faith alone.
For the next one Starr Meade takes the Westminster Shorter Catechism and turns it into a wonderful family devotional. This one is recommended for 6th grade and up.
This last book is about a Grandfather who tells his grandchildren the story of redemption using 41 Bible stories
Children have great minds and the ability to love God from youngest of ages. I love finding authors who are not afraid to teach them the deeper things of God to help our children grow.
